City of Rogers
This project celebrates a sense of place. Several hobby photographers provided b-reel to help tell an updated story on the growing suburb. A community video brings all sorts of leaders together to promote the value of the place. The video lives online and folks far and wide can hear about it.
Save Benedict ( Project title: "Collegeville" )
Ah, the good old days! Do I share a senior college project on my site with you? Sure. Why not? It is the beginning of a fun ride.
This project brought over 30 talented individuals together.
Today, I am proud to see so many engaged in their respective careers in the arts and communications.

This project celebrates the ability to collaborate with people more talented than me. The story was weak. I wrote the script, Save Benedict, while I was in London. Save Benedict is inspired by Saint John's ghost stories and vibes in Collegeville, MN. The short film was told with the historical fusion and dramatic flare of Dan Brown's famous novel, The DaVinci Code.
I lived in a loft with our study abroad crew and had my internship at Raindance Film Festival. I did not have much money then. So I would walk the two miles from my loft to the urine-scented alley near Picadilly Circus to show up for my work. On weekends and weeknights, I could attend free screenwriting and film courses.
The story needed a bit more flare and perhaps a more dramatic death scene. But the marketing is what stood out. A mentor of mine at the time reminded me that marketing was my takeaway from this project. He told me I had the monastery talking about the project. We did everything to fill the campus theater - twice.
It was a 2-star story made and shared by a well-executed hyperlocal marketing plan.
Maybe we should remake it? Any takers?
